Hasidic Williamsburg

10.1.17

On one very rainy late autumn afternoon I decided to walk from Dumbo Flea to Mast Brothers store in Williamsburg. Side note: Flushing Avenue is such a bore to walk (especially in pouring rain). My walk took me straight through Hasidic neighbourhood of Williamsburg. There is this one thing in New York that never ceases to amaze me - all those invisible borders, all those microcosms. One second strangers on a street are chatting to you about the weather and the next you're somewhere where you can't read the signs and you clearly stand out in the crowd.
